| The ARRA funds some construction projects for state-owned or state-operated National Guard facilities, not otherwise authorized by law. Priority is given to projects that are to reduce energy consumption or modernize utilities, re-roof existing buildings, solve health and safety concerns, or improve the living conditions of building users. |

| Timeline: Must obligate funds by September 30, 2010. |
| Restrictions: Nebraska National Guard must submit a list of potential projects meeting the criteria of the program. After this list is vetted by the federal National Guard Bureau and the Secretary of Defense, selected projects are included on an expenditure plan for funds provided in this section and submitted to the Committees on Appropriations of both houses of Congress. Projects are typically 100% federally funded, but exceptions occur. |

| Other characteristics: The State Military Department is tentatively scheduled to receive funding for the Dining Hall facility at Camp Ashland, as well as for energy consumption, modernization, and roofing projects at Camp Ashland, Greenlief Training facility in Hastings, and the Penterman Armory. The HVAC project at the Penterman Armory will require a 25% State match. |
