Neighborhood Stabilization Program

Funds to Nebraska: $10,000,000*

Additional federal funds are available for state, local governments and non-profit organizations to purchase abandoned and foreclosed property for use as affordable housing.

Competitive Grant


Distribution

Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will grant funds for qualified projects on a competitive basis.

State of Nebraska, local governments and non-profit organizations.

Sub Recipients

None.

Requirements

Timeline: Grant application's are due to Housing and Urban Development (HUD) by July 19, 2009. Funds must be fully expended within three years of award.
Restrictions: Applicants will have to demonstrate capacity, ability to leverage investment, and ability to achieve neighborhood stabilization. Grants must be given to areas with the highest foreclosure numbers and rates and where the funding can be used within the established timeline.
Recipient's matching funds requirement: None.
Recipient's administrative allowance: None.
